Great PD Coming Your Way in 2018!

Happy New Year! The TID Committee have just updated our Professional Development Calendar with some exciting EdTech and Design PD events in the European region. Check out our calendar from the ‘Events’ menu above or CLICK THIS LINK to go to the calendar page of this site.

Below is a quick summary of what’s coming. If you have events you’d like to add, feel free to send info in the comments for this post or email any of the TID members and we’ll post it to the calendar. We’re also adding online courses that could be of interest to the community, so pass those links along as well.

January 2018

Google Step-Up, a free online course for interational school educators:

There are lots of great ways to use G Suite tools in your teaching and learning to help your students collaborate, create and share. If you would like to grow your skills in a fun, interactive online environment with other international school educators please join us for a free, twelve-week course. Course content will include G Suite services like Classroom, Mail, Drive, Calendar, Groups, YouTube and more. Course participants will receive a course completion certificate and can even get certified by taking the optional Google Certified Educator Level 1 exam.

  • Who: Aaron Tyo-Dickerson, Google Certified Trainer and course facilitator
  • Where: online in a private “training domain”
  • When: Course starts Monday, 15 January and takes place over twelve weeks

Makeology: Zurich International School: Makeology is a hands-on Maker Summit for curriculum leaders, classroom educators, principals, and heads of schools who want to learn more about how to leverage the Making pedagogy and practices to deepen, enliven, and transform teaching and learning for their students.

3rd Annual iPad Conference on iPads in the Classroom: International School of Amsterdam: (Plus Pre-Con Makerversity!

The European Conference on iPads in the Classroom is fast becoming a “Don’t miss!” event in the tech teacher’s calendar. This two-day event is designed to equip K-12 educators with inspirational and innovative strategies and approaches for using mobile devices such as iPads, laptops and mobile phones to enhance learning. Join leading experts and specialists for two days of networking, sharing and inspiration to jumpstart innovation in your classroom.

Design and Maker-Centered Learning Workshop: International School of Amsterdam:

Led by researchers Edward P. Clapp and Andrea Sachdeva, this two-day interactive workshop session will begin with a full-day introduction to the framework for maker-centered learning developed by the Agency by Design research project at Harvard Graduate School of Education’s Project Zero.
