…winter musings

This talk by Sarah Key, who was the ECIS fall conference Friday keynote,  is not about technology but in so many ways ties very closely to what our schools are about. Sparking, nurturing and facilitating a passion for creativity, critical thinking, and  reflection to provide each learner the scaffold to develop a personal framework to go out in the world and find their path. Sarah’s keynote was inspirational and left many of us in the audience being reminded how as educators we have this unique opportunity to facilitate and support our learning community to engage with this same passion. In many ways as educators, managers, coordinators, Directors and facilitators of information technology our audience, tools, systems, and infrastructure play a critical role in setting the stage and supporting ecosystems to channel the passion of our learners. They then engage with these ecosystems at different levels and venues throughout the day. These moments are often invisible, low key, in the background and not noticeable! ~But they are there, everyday around us. That we as a learning community nurture, engage and facilitate this in so many different ways is cause for celebration as the year comes to a close.
